Gaia Taffoni

Post-doctoral researcher

Gaia is research assistant of Protego. She is post-doc research fellow at the School of Transnational Governance, European University Institute, Florence. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Università Statale di Milano.

Her research interest’s lies in the politics of Judicial systems, Judicial Administration, and European Public Policy. She has explored her research interests at the EU and member states level as well as in countries of the MENA region.

Gaia’s articles on the EU politics of judicial support and on the European Innovation principle in Regulation appeared in international peer-reviewed journals and she is publishing a book on the EU Judicial support in Morocco and Jordan with Palgrave Macmillan.

Within Protego Gaia acts as research assistance, in particular she works on the policy instrument of Administrative Judicial Review.

When Gaia is not working, she is enjoying her yoga classes, surfing and/or travelling around the world – often all at the same time.
